Note: thank you to Barbara Sasseman for sending me the information on Barbara KREBS and her children in regards to the land purchases and sales. Purchase of Land by Louis Krebs 15th June 1844 Know All Men by these Presents, That John G For bes and Elizabeth Forbes his wife of Blackhawk County State of Iowa in Consi deration of the Sum of Twenty Four Hundred Dollars in hand paid by Louis Kre bs of Black Hawk County State of Iowa do hereby Sell and Convey unto the sai d Louis Krebs the following described premises to Wit: The West half of the South East Quarter of Section No Fifteen (15) Also the West half of the Nort h East Quarter of Section No Fifteen (15) All in Township no Eighty Seven No rth Range No Twelve (12) West of the 5th P.M. Excepting and reserving the fol lowing out of the land described tract to wit: Five Acres in the North West Corner forty rods East and West and Twenty Rods North and South Also a tra ct of about three and one half acres as follows commencing 42 1/2 Rods South of the North West Corner thence Running South 65 Rods thence North Easterly 21 1/2 Rods to the State Road thence along the State Road to the place of b eginning Also excepting a strip one rod wide across the South end of W 1 /2 of N 1/2 of NE 1/4, Also the North nine acres of the South East Quarter o f the South West Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section No Fourteen Also ten acres more or less in the North East part of Lot no two (2) In Secti on No Fourteen (14) All in Township Eighty Seven North Range no Twelve(12) o f the 5th P.M.
