Note: !BIRTH: Since son, Emanuel STAFFORD, was born in 1825, his birth would have probably been around 1800 as a guess. 1880 cen- sus, Urbana, Champaign County, Ohio for his son, Emanuel STAFFORD, shows his birth to have been in Ohio. It is also confirmed by the 1850 census below authenticated by the fact that Grant Stafford, himself, was the census enumerator. That census confirms his birth year as 1804. Later research indicates birth 18 Feb 1803 in Highland County, Ohio, Paint Twp !MARRIAGE: Marriage to Mary Moffett was in Morgan County, Indiana on 3 Sep 1827. Second marriage 24 May 1838 in Washington Twp, Morgan County, Indiana. !CENSUS(1): Washington Township, Morgan County, Indiana - 24 Sep 1850. G. Stafford, Asst Marshal. Scott would have been a half-brother, son of Grant Stafford's second wife, Fanny Gregory.) !CHECK: Whether first wife died or if there were a divorce is not known. However, there was a listing in the 1850 Washington Twp, Morgan County, Indiana census for a Mary Stafford, b. abt 1815 head of a family of 5 children. It is doubtful that this was the former Mary MOFFETT, Grant Stafford's first wife. It is more probable that she was the widow of Grant's brother, James, since her oldest child was named, James It is noted that the mother of his second wife, Fanny Gregory was Lucy Jones (Lucinda) Moffet. Could Lucy have been a sister of his first wife, Mary Moffett? The Gregory pedigree chart shall be filed in Grant Stafford ahnentafel folder #20. (Compiler's comment: It was later ascertained that Mary Moffett and Fanny Gregory were half-sisters, both daughters of Lucy Jones.) !SOURCE(1): In compiler's "2. BIBLE" file folder attached to photocopies of the Stafford Bible are photocopies of family notes made on the "E.E. STAFFORD & CO., Urbana Ohio" letterhead and the Queen Ins. Co. of America notepad. On the notepad is the Grant STAFFORD/Fannie GREGORY family notations listing children in the handwriting of Effie Evans STAFFORD-85 (1868-1954), granddaughter of Grant STAFFORD. . !SOURCE(2): IGI Film #447907, Ordinance No. 30681, Temple: Logan (Utah) This record for Sarah Stafford shows her b. 1 Aug. 1833, Morgan County, Indiana; m..
