MCANERNEY request the pleasure of Mrs. PENDERGAST's company at the marriage of their daughter Marie Louise to Mr. Laurence Albert WEAVER on the evening of Tuesday, the sixteenth of April at half after eight o'clock at Two-twenty West Ninety-eight Street New York City R.s.v.p. Wed Before Altar of Roses Before a temporary altar of white roses and palms, and with her brother Master Charles MCANERNEY, as acolyte during the ceremony at the home of her parents last night, Miss Marie Louise MCANERNEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall J. MCANERNEY, of No. 220 West Ninety-eighth street, were married to Mr. Lawrence A. WEAVER by the Rev. Father Martin of St. Patrick's Cathedral. The bride was attend- ed by her sister, Miss FLorence MCANERNEY. Mr. Frank SNIFFEN was best man. A reception for relatives and close friends followed the ceremony. 2. MISS MCANERNEY A BRIDE Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. MCANERNEY Married to L. A. WEAVER. The wedding of Miss Marie Louise MCANERNEY, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Marshall J. MCANERNEY, to Lawrence(sic) A. WEAVER, took place at 8:30 last evening at the home of the bride's parents, 220 West Ninety-eighth Street. The Rev. Father MARTIN of St. Patrick's Cathedral performed the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Florence MCANERNEY. She wore a gown of white brocaded satin with a Court train and tulle veil, which was surmounted by a chaplet of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquest of lilies of the valley. Her sister wore a frock of white chiffon with touches of blue. The room where the ceremony took place was decorated with Killarney roses, white daisies, and palms. Little Charles MCANERNEY, the bride's brother, acted as altar boy. Frank SNIFFEN was best man. A reception for the relatives and intimate friends followed the ceremo- ny. Mr. and Mrs. WEAVER will make their home in this city upon return- ing from their bridal trip. Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, Ga., 2 homes in Fort Lauderdale, Fl, the second of which was on Ocean Drive fronting on what is remembered as Mayan Lake(?) originating from closing of a section of the inland wsaterway. All three of her husbands resided there before their death - the last Horace Beck outlived her and he died in Atlanta, GA. !CHURCH: Catholic Churches - each place of residence !SOURCE(1): Personal knowledge of compiler, her son. !SOURCE(2): Will - Compiler was co-executor with a Fort Lauderdale Bank. Estate was equally divided among the three sons. !SOURCE(3): Scrapbook of compiler's grandmother, Florence Marie PENDERGAST RIN7 which had previously belonged to his great grandmother, Louise L. LYNCH RIN15 gives dates of all of her children in her handwriting on page 11. !ORGANIZATION & CIVIC ACTIVITIES: Red Cross (WW II), Golf (see RIN2) !SCHOOL: Convent of the Holy Child, Sharon Hill, Pa., Class of 1906 - Miss Rayson's, New York City, a "Finishing" School. !TRAVELS: As teenager, to Central & So. Amer. on United Fruit Co. ships with grandfather, Col. John McAnerney (RIN12), a director of the company. During 1st marriage, cruises in winter out of New York on SS Volendam and others. As widow, several Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale including one on SS Leonardo di Vinci with and as a present to compiler and his wife, Betsey, in Betsey's last days of her life. ODDS & ENDS: This compiler although a youngster remembers that his mother nearly died in the "flu" epidemic which was when the family lived in Broadway-Flushing, probably in 1918 when this compiler was about 5 years of age in kindergarten in PS 22, Murray Hill, Flushing. He also had the disease but quickly recovered. His "school bus" was a canvas-enclosed wagon with steps on the rear. It was powered by two horses (memory is not clear as to one or two!).
