Was an avid golfer until death. !BUSINESS: Left college to travel for the Camel Pen company pulling a travel trailer in which he lived and carried displays to be set up in retail operations. Next, he joined Lionel Edie, investment counselors, in the Wall Street area where he remained until World War II. After the war, moved to Atlanta GA where he joined the Lanier Company in sales of the Gray Audograph Dictation machines. While there, he became a member of the Board of Directors of the Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Atlanta. On retirement of the President of the S&L, Marshall left Lanier to replace him as President and Chairman of the Board. !CIVIC: Atlanta Rotary Club and eventually State Governor of Rotary. American Red Cross. A national Director representing Georgia. Atlanta Sales Executive Club - various offices including President. He was very active in various charity fund raising activities. !CLUB: Capitol City Club, Atlanta GA Piedmont Driving Club, Atlanta GA !MILITARY: Enlisted in the Army Air Corps with basic training in Biloxi MS. Then to aircraft armorer school in Colorado where upon graduation was re- tained as an instructor. Officer Training School in Miami Beach FL when upon commissioning was transfered to the New York Port of Embarka- tion in Brooklyn NY. Next assigned to the Air Annex of the Pentagon in Washington DC. In 1945, transfered to Hickam Field in Hawaii to the Air Transport Command to be in charge of the Pacific Sector (Captain at the time).
