The compiler was present as a youngster at their wedding at the bride's sister's home (Myrtle MARTIN) at Sands Point, Port Washington LI NY and remembers meeting a distinguished fellow guest, John Phillips SOUSA, the famous composer and band leader. !DEATH: March 8, 1967. Was on a business trip to the midwest and died away from home on that trip. (Memorial prayer card giving death date is in compi- ler's New Testament for that date on page 128). !BURIAL: MC ANERNEY plot - with parents and other family members - Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Westchester County, New York !RESIDENCES: When the compiler was a youngster in Douglaston LI NY, his Uncle Marshall before his marriage, lived with them, but for how long, the compiler has no memory. After marriage, they moved to Manhasset LI NY (Plandome) where they lived until his death. There were probably other residences of which the compiler is unaware. !MILITARY: The compiler has the vague memory that his Uncle Marshall served in the Navy in World War I, but that needs confirmation. !BUSINESS: Was early active in Wall Street, but later became active in the mica business selling the product of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountain mines to the paint industry. !SOURCE(1): Scrapbook of compiler's grandmother, Florence Marie PENDERGAST-7 which had previously belonged to his great grandmother, Louise L. LYNCH-15 gives birth dates of all of her children in her handwriting on page 11. !SOURCE(2): Mostly personal knowledge of the compiler.
