COONEY and Elizabeth MCCARTEN. !EDUCATION: Graduated at Cuthers School and also Columbia University. !MARRIAGE: Date of marriage is not known, but the below news items would indicate in the fall of the year prior to November 15. If he were around 25 years of age, the year would have been about 1904. Matrons of honor were sisters of bride - Mrs. Alfred E. TOUSSAINT and Mrs. Hugh MILLER. J. Preston MCANERNEY-88 was best man - ushers were Francis B. MCANER- NEY-92, Bentley GARDINER, Walter POWERS, Arthur MCCLURE, Arthur Delano WEEKES, Stanton BROWN, and Henry BEEKMAN. Graduated at Cuthers School and also Columbia University. !REMARKS(1): Compiler remembers one of the above ushers, Walter POWERS (wife, Be- ssie), good friends of his grandmother, Florence Marie PENDERGAST-7. Compiler as a teenager was fascinated with their daughter, Florence POWERS. She was named for his grandmother who was her God-mother. He attended Florence' wedding to a young Army officer who eventually became a General; he was accompanied by his grandmother. The POWERS family lived in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, where they had raised tomatoes and manufactured tomato catsup.
