Note: little North of Klamath, he spotted a periscope in the water from a Jap submarine. There was a tanker ship that was torpedoed just off the coast and it made it to Crescent City before it sank. Granville had very severe Asthma. He used to deliver gass to Bridgeville, and Dinsmore and Blocksburg. He always felt better out there, so they figured Petaluma would be good for his breathing. It was for a short while but I guess he almost died a couple of times, so they moved back to Fernbridge. And Granville was drinking that cheap wine. He wouold be out of his mind he would be so drunk, we found wine bottles, empty wine bottles all over the place when Peggy was moving to the Fortuna house. It was the cheap 1/2 gallon jugs of that sweet fortified wine. Blackberry, port, raspberry etc. Peggy finally threw Granville out , and do yo remember the little shack down on the edge of the hill, 1 room and a bath room I think. It was one of the shacks left by the Highway crew that built the Fernbridge. It burned to the graound i guess after Granville died, the railroad bums used to go under neath and get out of the weather, it was dry. - Ray Reeves, 2007
