HAROLD L. LOVELACE Springfield-Harold L. Lovelace, 84, of Springfield, Illinois passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. He was born November 13, 1922 in Ramsey, the son of Luther K. and Orpha Matthews Lovelace. He married Lois Niemi on April 22, 1961, in Terre Haute Indiana. Harold worked as a construction representative for the US General Services Administration, retiring in 1985. He was a 50 year member of Filmore Masonic Lodge 670 AF&AM, Ansar Temple, Capitol City Shrine Club and Ansar Clowns. Harold was a licensed hot air balloon pilot and former member and past president of the Springfield Ski and Boat Club. He is survived by his wife, Lois; three sons, Fred (wife Sherry) Lovelace of Jacksonville Florida, Charles (wife Macrina)Lovelace of Merritt Island Florida, and Randy (wife Judi) Lovelace of Cocoa Beach Florida; daughter, Laurie Mefford of Pawnee Illinois; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and sister, Betty Hoyt of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Harold Lovelace; two sisters and five brothers. Services are under the direction of Bich Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Kike Mill Road where friends may call from 4 until 7 PM Sunday, July 15, 2007. Services will be held at Bich at 10:30 AM Monday July 16, 2007 with the Rev. Dr. Charles Banning officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Springfield Lodge 4 AF&AM will conduct Masonic services at 7 PM Sunday July 15, 2007.
