Cupid Continues his Pranks - Cupid is up to his old pranks in Osakis Twp. The Review has the pleasure this week of reporting the third wedding within a very short time that involves the lives and fortunes of prominent young people of the banner township of Douglas County. On Tuesday at 3 p.m. was celebrated at Emaus Lutheran church in this city the marriage of Mr. Jas.P. Smith, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Soren Smith, and Miss Maggie, daughter of R.P. Clausen. The ceremony was held by the pastor, Rev. S. Meisel. Misses Annie Clausen and Marie Smith were bridesmaids, and George and Chris Smith attended the groom.
After the marriage an elaborate wedding dinner was served to the 150 guests at the handsome farm home of the groom's parents, following by dancing and the usual round of unalloyed enjoyment. A large number of pretty presents were given the happy couple, and they start out in life with the best wished of a host of friends. The groom has this summer built a house on his farm adjoining his father's place where he takes his charming bride.
The Lake Review, Osakis, Douglas Co. MN, 23 Nov 11899, p8. c4,
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Smith, of Alexandria, and Mr. John and Miss Breta Schultz, of Ellendale, Minn, were here Tuesday to present at the Clausen-Smith wedding.
