a. Note:   Porter Lee VAUGHN (April 17, 1922 - July 29, 2006)
  McMinnville resident and Overton County, TN native Porter Lee Vaughn, age 84, was born April 17, 1922 and died July 29, 2006 at St Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. A self employed carpenter, a United States Army veteran having served in WWII during the invasion of Normandy, and a member of the United Pentecostal Church, he was the son of the late Bill and Nancy Ann Phillips Vaughn. He was married to Ivie Louise Herman Vaughn who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cordell and Jimmy Vaughn and sister Sada Green. He is survived by three sons, Bob Vaughn and Jack Vaughn both of McMinnville and Charlie Vaughn of Appleton, Wisconsin; four daughters, Virginia Bosche of Spokane, Washington, Claudia Vaughn of Thomason, GA, Sue Aldava of Tehachapi, California and Anita McCormick of McMinnville; twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Vaughn of Rock Island, TN and Billy Vaughn of Dunlap, TN; sister, Sally Copeland of Hartford, Arkansas and sister-in-law, Leona Hopkins of Spencer, TN. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in High's Chapel with Wayne Hopkins and Larry Huling officiating. Burial followed in the Shockley Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
