Note: He is listed as 33 at the time of Joe's Birth in July 1921 He is listed as 3 1 in January 1920 when the census was taken This means that his date of birth is between January 1888 and July1888 since he appears to have aged 2 years in 17 months time. Lets see January 1920 he would have been 31 July 1921 he would have been 33 88+31=1919 he would have turned 31 so January of 1920 he would have still been 31 88+33=1921 if it was after his birthday when Joe was born he would have been 33 Thereby his birthday had to be after January when the census was taken but before July when Joe was born. If his birthday had not passed he would have only been 32 when Joe was born 89+31= 1920 89+33= 1922 when Joe was born so he had to have been born in 1888 We know that in 1949 Maureen visited Thomas in Princeton NJ so his death would have been after that date. After having been told most of his life that his father was dead, when Joe was being checked by the military for a "Top Secret" clearance the military located his father in a VA hospital in Princeton it was then that Maureen took herself off to meet him. We further know from her talk with him that he served in World War I. We know that Thomas left when Joe was 6 months old or just after Christmas 1922. Given that he was in a military hospital in 1949 we can assume he never left NJ before he died. We can also assume that somewhere the military should be able to give us that information as he was a WWI vet.
