a. Note:   I have no proof that Nancy Millam was my John Reynolds wife. I base my decision on the location and date of this marriage. I suspect that if this is true, there was a previous marriage for John. Census records list ages for some of the children, before this marriage date.
  I have no proof that wife Lucy's maiden name was Gillespie but again base my decision on location and date of marriage.
  There are many court records for John and Lucy Reynolds. The names of all children and several of their
 spouses are listed in these records. John and Lucy had set up an agreement with James L Reynolds and George Byers. They were to give a good and just maintenance of the affairs of John and Lucy, so long as John & Lucy lived, after their death, the land and named assets would be divided between James L Reynolds (son) and George Byers (son-in-law). The problem, John died in 1838, without a Will. James L Reynolds died in 1839. It left a legal mess, that was battled for many years, in the Alleghany Co, VA courts. I have many of these records, copied from LDS film.
