Sullivan, Head, Owns Home, F, W, 57, Widowed, KY, KY, KY, Farmer BETTIE JOHNSON, Mother, F, W, 84, Widowed, KY, KY, KY Everett Isaac, Grandson, M, W, 11, Single, KY, KY, KY -------------------- From the scrapbook of Cannie Lile Beams: The News-Journal, September 24, 1931 Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, age 86, widow of Lewis Johnson, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Sullivan, near White Rose, Saturday, September 19, where she had been making her home for some months. She was married to Lewis Johnson in 1867 and to this union were born eight children, seven of whom survive: Richard Johnson, Lucian Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Earl Johnson, Mrs. William Sullivan, Mrs. Ed Sullivan, and Mrs. T. H. Skaggs. She united with the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at the age of 22 and lived a consistent Christian life. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 21, at the old home, conducted by Rev. J. T. McFarland with interment in the family cemetery. -------------------- NOTE: Although Louis had been dead for four years when Elizabeth died, part of the estate was considered his and part was considered hers. Their son, Tom, was appointed administrator of Elizabeth's estate and son Earl was appointed administrator of Louis' estate. - Jeremy Taylor County Administrator's Bond Book 1931-1944, Page 21 15 October 1931 Earl Johnson is appointed adminstrator of Lewis H. Johnson with Earl Johnson and Lucian Johnson as sureties make bond in the sum of $1200. -------------------- Taylor County Inventory, Appraisement and Sale Bills, Book 11, Pages 204 - 205 We, the undersigned appraisers, appointed by the Taylor County Court to appraise the personal property of Elizabeth Johnson deceased, after being first duly sworn proceeded on the 19th day of October 1931, to discharge said duty, and did appraise the property not exempt from distribution exhibited to us by T. H. Johnson, the personal representative, described and valued as follows, viz: Property - Value Bank Certificate in Bank of Campbellsville - $1100.00 Cash on hands - $20.00 Total Amount of Appraisement - $1120.00 Given under our hands this 19 day of October 1931.
