I posted to the Rothwell genealogy forum some time ago a question on Polly Rothwell and John Eastham. You stated that they moved out of state. Done some work since then. It is my theory that John Eastham and Polly Rothwell were the parents of James who married Rachel Carr and Clairborne R. Eastham who went to Saline Co. Mo. with David Wood and his wife and there married their daughter Henneretta. I have found that John Rothwell served on a jury in in 1806, that Clairbourne was born in 1815 in Albemarle Co. James per his marriage in 1828 would have been born about 1808. I have also found in a will book records for the estate of John Eastham for who the estate was handled ie: what was paid to whom ect. The dates on that are 1837 to 1838. And James Eastham was executor. It gives no real info. So I am now sure that he stayed in Va. and had children here. I am very interested in this family because James Eastham's daughter Mary Ann married Overton Carr the son of Nancy Rothwell who married Bernard Carr. Overton and Mary Ann were cousins through Bernard Carr and his sister Rachel both children of Meekins Carr. The marriage bound states that James gave his permission to "intermarry". If my theory (which I am currently trying to prove) is correct them they were 1st and 2nd cousins. Thought I would let you know how the search is going. I, along with Laurel Taffe Carr, have been trying to prove that Claiborne R Eastham, was indeed a son of John Eastham and Polly Rothwell. Polly Rothwell was a daughter of Claiborne Rothwell. Do you have any information on this relationship?
