  Martin Vogel, Aged Pioneer, is Dead
  Martin Vogel, Sr, 92 over sixty years a resident of Ottawa and Sandusky counties, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs, Christian Gasser, Sr, 873 N. Fifth street, Monday afternoon at 1:20 o'clock after a short illness brought on by the infirmities of advanced age. Although feeble for a year, he had been confined to his bed for one week.
  The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
  The deceased was born in Dingen, Germany, June 17, 1820 and came to America, in 1852, setteling in Bay township, Ottawa county. In 1874 he came to Fremont and lived here since. He was united in marriage with Miss Anna Sharp in Germany. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. His wife and one son died twenty years ago. He leaves a son, Martin Vogel, Jr, and Mrs. Christian Gasser, Sr, and fifteen grandchildren. He was a faithful member of St. John's Luteran church.
