  Retired Teacher Dana J. Fox Dies
  Dana J. Fox, 87, a former manual arts teacher in the Elyria public school system for 34 years and a former furniture dealer here, died yesterday at the Elyria Home after a long illness.
  Retiring from the teaching profession in 1946, Mr. Fox opened his second career in 1947 by organizing the Fox Furniture Co. with his sons, Ralph and Robert. They operated the store at the corner of Fifth Street and Middle Avenue. Mr. Fox turned all his interest in the business over to his sons and retired in 1961.
  Born in West Richfield, Mr. Fox had lived in Elyria for 65 years. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1907 and attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and Ohio State University.
  Mr. Fox was a member of First Congregational Church and Masonic orders, King Solomon Lodge F & AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland and Al Koran Temple. He was a past patron of Elyria Chapter 165 of Order of Eastern Star and was a member of Elyria Elks and Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
  Surviving are three sons, Ralph D. of St. Petersburgh Beach, Fla., Russell P. of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Robert A. of Elyria; six grandchildren. His first wife, Pauline, died Sept. 11, 1962; his second wife, Rose, died April 25, 1975, and a son, Roy J., died in 1920. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
  Friends will be received tomorrow, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harold Dicken Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Reverend Ronald K. Marmaduke will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
