In January of 1995 I received a letter from Martha Alice Giles Clay, PO Box 44559, Shreveport, LA 71134. She identified herself as the granddaughter of John Taylor Giles and Catherine Wayland Giles. She said that Catherine lived with her daughter (Mrs. Clay's aunt) this Nanny Pearl Giles Conrad Hayward. She said that Vicki Giles Maddox is her second cousin and John Giles of Kenosha is her nephew. She was 80 years old at the time of her writing me and had a daughter, Martha Clay who was a physician living in Georgetown, D.C., where her son was attending Georgetown University.
