a. Note:   Katherine Beidenkopf was born February 26, 1834 at Darmstadt, Province of Hesse, Germany. She was three days short of being 70 years old, at the time of her death. She passed away on February 23, 1904 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota. When she was 11 years old she moved to America with her parents, living for a number of years in New York City then moving to Chicago, Illinois. On October 6, 1855 she was married to Casper Schimmele in Chicago, five years later they moved to Mapleton, Minnesota, coming here with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kruger, a long trip with oxen team and homesteaded the farm land of 600 acres and built a home to live in where Anne Schimmele now lives, and made this their home until 1890. They built a home and moved where Kenneth Schimmele now lives.
