Note: Jim and Nettie, as they were sometimes called, saw electric lights in their home for the first time, December 4, 1926. Before the electric lights they had an acetylene plant which used carbide and provided gas lights and gas for cooking. They both saw cottages built along the Sandusky riverbank in front of their farm. They had many friends among the cottage folks. Their farm was called Muncie Hollow Farm. It contained 136 acres. Muncie was the name of an Indian Chief buried in an ancient burial ground by the woods, where the ravine crosses under the road to the river. (Taken from booklet written by Agnes V.
