a. Note:   1. Soon after marrying Catherine, Barrett moved with his father to Knox County, OH.
  2. Barrett was ordained a minister, in 1842.
  3. Moved to Missouri in 1856.
  4. In 1861, he was appointed chaplain of the 6th Missouri Volunteer Infantryby Col. O.N. Cramer.
  5. Dr. Barrett returned to Lithopolis, Fairfield Co, OH, in 1866, and was still living there in 1876.
  6. The GEDCOM file received from Micheal Sheppard on 3 March 1998 says that Dr. Barrett was born on 12 April 1814 (Source: ID #1N).
  7. "History Report of the Needles Family in America," compiled by Gordon J. Needles, and received from Roger E. Needels on13 March 1998, also gives Barrett's birth date as 12 April 1814 (ID #1C).
  8. The 1860 census for Gentry County, MO, shows B.J. and Catherine as living in Albany P.O. Township. None of their children are listed as living at home (Source: ID #1Y, page 751).
  9. The family pages from Chuck Needels also give Barrett's birth date as 12 April 1814 (Source: ID #1ABF).
