a. Note:   Huntington. He was a deputy U.S. Customs Officer there during the Embargo against Canada. He served under Samuel Buel, who was an uncle to Sarah FITCH. While patrolling on Lake Champlain he was ordered to shoot a smuggler. This incident caused quite a local furor, as the Embargo was not popular in Vermont. Shortly after he and Samuel Buel were acquited of the death of the smuggler, John Walker moved to Point au Fer, Rouse's Point, Clinton co, NY.
