Ida Louise Lenton;s died Feb. 17, 1974 at Pomona, Calif. and is buried at Philedephis Ave. Cemetry Pomona, Calif. Have no records of Sara A. Jones. Ida's father was a red headed Welchman who spoke no English. He died in 1898 at age 96. Fred C. Thomas worked for many years for Tenny Grain Co. of Minneapolis, Minn. Fred homesteaded a ranch in Weld Co., Colo, called the Point of Rocks Ranch. Their brand was YH This was in 1909.Lillie A, Thomas and sons lived on the ranch until it became their�s under the Homestead Act. Herbert Hemenway Thomas and wife Prudence also homesteaded a ranch which became their�s under the Homestead Act. Archie and Ida also homesteaded a ranch, but were unable to live on it long enough to become their�s. The Point of Rocks at one time was a noted Indian lookout, You can see for miles from the top of the rocks. It had been the dream of Fred and Lillie Thomas to retire on the Point of Rocks Ranch 5 miles east of Cornish, Colo, Archie C, Thomas left Colorado and returned to No. Dakota where he worked in a Grain Elevator at Robinson, No. Dakota* He then moved to Sheltont Nebraska and worked in a Grain Elevator In later years Archie went into the Gasoline Filling Station business at Brighton, Colo. He worked at the Gas Station in the daytime and worked the evening shift at a Sugar Beet Factory during the fall season. Archie moved to the Point of Rocks Ranch and farmed for awhile this was in the early 30,s Archie moved back to Briggsdales Colo. and lived in the old Dr. Spangler house. He ran a Grain Elevator in Grover, Colo. and drove back and forth from Briggsdale. In the summer of 1940 Archie moved to Roggen, Colo. to run an independent Co-op Grain Elevator., for two years. Archie moved to Greeley, Colo. In the fall of 1942. I don�t remember what kind of work he did. In the summer of 1943 Archie moved to Pomona, Calif. He worked at Kaiser Steel at the Fontana Plant at Fontana, Calif. As a welder�s helper during World War II. After the war Kaiser started laying off. Archie moved to Norwalk, Calif. Where he worked as a maintenance man. He didn�t have a firth certificate so no one could prove his age and when he retired he was actually about 75 years old. When Archie retired he moved back to Pomona, Calif. Where he passed away.
