Notes
a. Note:   *Johns, second wife was formerly Ruth Stratton, who was the widow of James White.
Ruth had two sons from her first marriage, their names were Charles and Stephen.
Ruth married James White on November 24, 1675 in Southampton, Suffolk, NY.
*According to IGI records, she was born in Southampton, Abt 1648/49, and her parents,
were John Stratton, and Sara Bancroft.
 * As for Elizabeth Anning, I am led to believe by historical accounts, that she accomanied
John to Long Island and arrived in Southampton ca 1685.
*Another important note, is that of New york City Wills, 1744-1758.
It states that on March 17, 1746, Stephen and Charles White, Ruth's sons by her
first marriage, were willed part of John's land. This was most likely carried out by JohnII,,
The grandson of JohnI. I don't believe JohnI was alive in the 1740's, but that needs to
 be substantiated.
*According to The Southampton town records, put into book form, by William D. Halsey, in
1966, John was contracted to teach school for 6 months, in Southampton, starting on April 28,
1694, from 8am to 5pm, with 2 hours for mid day meal. John had 20 students, with names
such as Howell, Cooper, Herrick and White, etc..
*According to a collection of the list of inhabitants of Ye Towne of Southampton, Old and Yong
Christians and Hethen ffreemen and Servants White and Black, Anno 1698, John Mowbry,
Anning Mowbry and Mistris Anning(Elizabeth's sister/Aunt/Mother?) were present. This
 info was found at www.genalogy_quest.com.
 * A witnessing of a will for John Herrick, puts John Mowbray in Southampton on August 12, 1685. This possibly means he was here a little earlier?
 * John Mowbray I ( the first), witnessed a will of John Theobalds on March 17, 1718/19.
