a. Note:   Forrest, Scott County Mississippi. She moved with her parents to Kaufman County, Tx. when she was about 11 years old. Grew up on a farm with her 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She and her sisters learned to weave and spin and knit. They made their own clothes. She married Parris Ledbetter at the home of her parents on 12/15/1886. They farmed in Kaufman Co. where their 9 children were born. They moved west in 1906 and lived one year at Bellevevue, then to Estelline in Hall County Tx. until 1913. They bought land near McLean, Grey Co. and lived there until 1916 when they bought land in Lynn Co. near Tahoka, Tx. This was a very sparsely populated area then. She was a member of the Wells Baptist Church for many years. She Passed away September 18, 1946.She is burried at the Tahoka, Tx. cemetery with her husband.
