Note: er 30, 1892 near Kemp, Texas. He attended school at Tolusa, Tx. until they moved west in the fall of 1906, then he went to school at Oman, near Estelline, Tx. in Hall County In 1913, They moved to McLean, Gray County and then to Lynn County in 1916. When World War I was declared, he went with the "Second Call" and trained at Camp Travis. He was placed in Co. F, 5th Ammunition Train. and wentoverseas in May 1918. He served in France during World War I. He was discharged at Camp Travis on Aug. 2, 1919. He married Mary Elizabeth Hays, March 6, 1925 at O'Donnell, Texas at the home of Rev. Horne. They lived in the Wells community where he farmed and worked at the gin during the ginning season. In the late 30's they lived in the lower Rio Grande Valley and he worked in the orange packing sheds. They farmed in Lynn County Tx. until 1958. Retired with wife to Tahoka Tx. He gardened and truck farmed there until his vision failed. Mary passed away in June 1961. He was married again to Mrs. Vetamae New on Nov 2, 1962 He died from heart failure. Had prostate cancer and some skin cancer. He is burried in the Tahoka, Tx. cemetary with first wife Mary.
