Note: born near Kemp, Kaufman Co. Tx. on Feb. 11, 1889, He attended Talosa school and played baseball on the school team. He did farm work until he went withe the family to McLean, Gray County Tx. in 1914 and then worked on a ranch. He was inducted into the armed forces from Gray County in 1917 abd traubed at Camp Travis, San Antonio. Co. A, 60th Infantry. He saw service overseas and was discharged at Camp Travis in July 1919. After the Army duty, he was a member of the McLean Fire Dept. and was a concrete worker. He Married Irene Murphy at McLean about 1925. Jesse Sr. passed away 12,31,1957 after a lingering illness and was burried at McLean Texas. Irene worked several years at the McLean Telephone Exchange. She moved to Weatherford, Tx. to be near her Daughters- Peggy and Sally.
