Note: heTalosa School. Church services were held in the same building. He liked to hunt--especially squirrels and bee trees. While on one of those hunts, he fell across a log and broke an arm. When the family moved to Hall County, Texas, he attended school at Mman, Tx. near Estelline. He enlisted in the Army in 1917 or early 1918 and trained with the 36th Div. at Camp Bowie. Company E 111th Engineers and went overseas about June 15, 1918. He was discharged in June 1919 at Camp Bowie. He Served in World War I in France. Ears were damaged by a bomb. Probably caused by the explosion of a bomb so close that his helmet was dented by a fragment.Farmed in Lynn County until late '50's. He married Emma Clara Townsen Jan. 22, 1922 at O"Donnell, TexasThey farmed in that Area. In about 1950, he lost two fingers form his left hand in an accident with a cotton stripper. They movet to a home in O"Donnell in about 1952. He was a Baptist and attended church at O'Donnell. He passed away at the V. A Hospital in Big Spring, Tx. on Jan. 23, 1959. He is burried with wife in O'Donnell Tx. cemmentary.
