a. Note:   is and Emma (Ware) Ledbetter near Kemp, Texas on Feb. 14,1895 as a big snow drifted by a cold north wind.
 She joined four brothers and learned to do dishes ande make doll clothes before she started school at Talosa, acountry two teacher school. The family moved to Hall County, Tx. in 1908 and the children went to a country chool near Estelline. In 1913 they moved to Gray County, Tx where she atended McLean High School, was a senior in 1916. The family moved to a farm near Tahoka, Lynn County, Tx in 1916. In the spring of 1916 Ethel took a teachers state examination and was issued a state teachers certificate. She taught in the Parnell School HallCounty the year of 1917-1918 and was paid $60.00 per month. The scare of her life came when she was put on the program at the County Institute that year. The subject was: "Teaching English in the Second Grade". The four eachers lived in a teacherage on the school yard. In the summer of 1918 and the following summer, she and her two sisters assisted their father with the farm work- Listed, planted, plowed and then helped harvest the crops while there brothers -all- served during WWI.
 She taught at Wells School 15 miles southwest of Tahoka during the 1918-1919 term. This time she was paid $75.00 pr month as a teacher and janitor. On December 24, 1919 she married Fred Adolphus Traweek and they moved to Foard City, Foard County, Texas to make their home. They attended the church at Foard City until the church was merged withe the Cromwell Church. She has been in the Home Demonstration Club work several years and has held all offices in her club and most county offices. She has taken all the sewing and tailoring courses offered by the club. She enjoys knitting, crocheting, and alll hand work as well as numerus crafts. She plays games withe the grandchildren and helps them with jigsaw puzzles. Gardening, canning and freezing vegetables is the choice of hobby. Farmed most of her life with her husband in Foard County Tx.
