a. Note:   n.) were married about 1848 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Jane Jackson (b.1801 in N.Car.). They purchased land NW of Locust Springs Schoolhouse and resided there as late as Dec. 1851 on Nettle Carrier Creek in Overton County, Tenn where five of their nine children were born. They moved to Nacogdoches County, Tx after 10/02/1855.
 Military record. Traveled from Litle Rock, Ark. to Douglas, Nacogdoches Co., Tx where he enlisted 3/10/1862 in Co. "H", 17th Confederate Texas Calvery. Black eyes, black hair, dark complexion, 5'9" high. Blacksmith by trade. Furnished his own horse. Promoted to Corporal on July 1, 1862. Discharged June 17, 1863 (?) at Little Rock Ark. Buckner passed away about 1873 in Kaufman Co. Tx. Both he and Susannah are burried in Kemp, Tx.
