a. Note:   Lawrence was born on the family farm in Victory that was settled by his parents. He remained on the farm his entire life.
  The Ludington Daily News of January 21, 1997 reads:
 " Hattie M. Timpy, 92, died Monday morning at Baywood Nursing Home following an extended illness. She lived almost all of her life in Victory Township, moving just one mile from her place of birth to her lifelong home.
 Hattie Anderson was born April 26, 1904, to August and Mary (Peterson) Anderson. She graduated from scottville High School in 1924, and then attended Mason County Normal School to earn her certification as a teacher.
 She taught in several one-room schools: Carr Settlement, Wilson, Banner and Victory Townhall. During the summers she attended Ferris Institute, Western Michigan College and Central Michigan College. She was a lifelong member of Victory Trinity Lutheran Church.
 She married Lawrence Timpy on Aug 24, 1933. After her marriage she was employed as a substitute teacher but devoted most of her time to housework and working with her husband on their dairy farm.
 Hattie and Lawrence raised three children, their daughter Beverly of Ludington and nephews Donald Anderson of Colfax, Wis., and Dr. William (and Anna) Anderson of Ludington. Surviving in addition to her three children are a sister-in-law, Anna Budde of Scottville; grandchildren David (and Gail) Anderson, Daniel (and Virginia) Anderson, Susan Golder (and William), Ingrid Fach (and Kirk) and Signe Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Services for Mrs. Timpy will be conducted at 1pm Thursday at the Alexander-Rye Funeral Home with the Rev. B. Douglas Niemi and the Rev. John Christensen officiating. Burial will be in South Victory Cemetery.
 The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday.
 Memorials may be directed to Victory Trinity Lutheran Church or West Shore Community College."
