BAPTISM (copy of certificate in file) June 1, 1919 at St. Anna's Church, Esplanade Avenue between Marais and Villere Streets. Godparents were Bartholomew Palmisano and Emily Moran. Both parents died within a few weeks of each other when he was only about 15 years old. He quit high school and enrolled at Delgado Trade School where he studied printing. He began his apprenticeship as a typesetter at E.P. Rivas Printing, 615 Bienville St., New Orleans where he worked continuously for about 35 years.
