Note: Subject: SV: Faberg Relatives. Date: Sun, 22 Nov 1998 12:45:41 +0100 From: "Richard Fauskrud" <rfauskru@@c2i.net> To: <bergseng@@saw.net> Hello Donald, The Halvor Bergseng/Gudbjor Johannesdtr. family moved from Brottum to Faaberg before 1900. In the census 3. December 1900 they lived at place called Sveen belonging to the Holen farm i Faaberg. At that time they had three children, Karen b. 1894, Olaf b. 1896 and Johan b. 1900. At least two other children were born to them in Faaberg, Martha b. 1902 and Haakon b. 1905. I believe all theese children used the family-name Halvorsen. At least one of them, Haakon Halvorsen (b. 1905), I believe have descendants living in Lillehammer today. Halvor Bergsengs name in Norway was Halvor Olsen Toppen. The Marthe Bergseng/Andreas Nielsen family I know nothing about. I guess Marthe is sister to Halvor (above) and your grandfather Andreas Olsen Bergseng. All of them from the cotters place Toppen under the Bergseng farm. Their parents were Ole Arnesen Vesterlien-eie (born 1828) and Karen Henningsdtr. Grasbakken (1826-1903). Since you have Brottumsboka you probably have most of theirancestors as I have. They also have some ancestors in Faaberg that I have in my database. I also might find some descendants of Halvor Olsen Toppen (b. 1871) here in Lillehammer today. I am not sure, though. There is not planned any Faaberg-book of the same type asBrottumsboka. the closest you will get to this is probably my database all Faaberg-families. It now has 40.000 individuals, most of themfrom Faaberg in the period 1600 to 1900. I am very interested to get your information about your branch of this Bergseng/Toppen family. Are you interested in sharingsome of it with me? A friend of mine is working with Brottum genealogy. his name is Even Bergsengstuen and his e-mail address is: evbergse@@online.no I am sure he is interested to here from you too. regards Richard Fauskrud Lillehammer, Norway
