Note: Obituary 19 Dec 1946 Mystic, IA Freight Crew Han Former Mystic Man Dies in Ottumwa Injured years ago in Wreck. Body brought Here for Buriel at Highland A former resident of Mystic Hugh M. Allerdice, who resided in Ottumwa for 15 years, died Sunday morning at; the Ottumwa Hospital where he had been taken following a cerebral hemorrhage Mr. Allerdice had been employed for 22 years in the Milwaukee freight service His home was at 1818 Gladstone Street. Mr. Allerdice, it will be remembered, sustained injuries in train wreck at the Rathbun crossing nine years ago and had not been in good health since, and was forced to quit work last January. Following services held at the Johnson funeral home in Ottumwa at 10:30 a.m., the body was brought to Mystic for burial in Highland cemetery. Funeral services were held here at the Christian church, being conducted by Rev. Bruce B. Matthews, pastor of the Davis Stree Christian Church, Ottumwa. Hugh M. Allerdice was born in Jefferson County and was the son of Alexander and Mary E. Alexander is survived by his wife Mildred, a stepson, Richard, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mable Blythe, of Centerville; Mrs. Kate parsons, Mankato, Man., William of Memphis, Mo., and Charles, of Auburn Wash. preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother. Mr. Allerdice was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway.
