Note: Killed by train, (story has it he was of wild nature) During a barroom brawl he was knocked over the head and was found the next day after a train had run over him. Clifford Davis, a nephew, recalled seeing Jesse rope a wild horse at a full gallup, and bringing the horse down. He was very strong. Obituary Jesse Allerdice Killed by Train 1915 The funeral services for Jesse Allerdice of Memphis, Mo., who was killed by the cars at Hannibal, Mo. June 20th, were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o�clock(. at the Parsonville church and the remains were interred in the cemetery near there. Mr. Allerdice who was 25 years of age was born at Glendale and has also resided at Beckwith. About fifteen yearss ago the family moved to Mystic and later to Memphis, Mo., where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Allerdice now reside. His parents did not know he was in Hannibal until they heard of the accident. The service was in charge of Rev. Gabrielson. He was a nephew of Malcomb N. Allerdice who resides southwest of Glendale. Jesse Winfield Allerdice was born near Lockridge an January 1st, 1890, and died at Hannibal, Mo. June 20th, 1915. He was twenty-five years old. He leaves to morn his sad death, his father and mother, three sisters and three brothers and a large circle of friends in this community where he spent most of his youth. He was a member of the Baptist church near Memphis, Mo. A number of relatives accompanied the remains to Glendale. Those present at the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Allerdice and son Hugh and George' Davis of Memphis, Mo., sister Mrs. Blythe of Mystic, Rob't Mickey and son Charles of Mystic, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hannah of Fairfield and Mrs. and Mrs. Hugh Allerdice of Pleasant Plain.
