MOHAWK -- Anna I. Murphy, 87, of Mohawk Homestead, died Monday after a three month illness.
She was born in the Town of Salisbury, daughter of James and Maryanne Kelhi Murphy. She was a registered nurse, having received her RN from St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1918. She did private duty work for many years and was supervising nurse in the Herkimer County Home for 15 years. She retired in 1954. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Alumni Association and the Blessed Sacrament Church.
She is survived by a brother, Paul Murphy of Herkimer and a sister, Mrs. Mary Carney of Middleville.
The funeral will be held at 9:15 Thursday from the Mohawk Homestead and at 9:30 from Blessed Sacrament Church. Rev. Anthony C. Adams, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetary, Newport.
