  Mr. James D. Murphy and Miss Hanna Murphy were married at St. John's Church, Newport, Wednesday, September 20, at 10 o'clock in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends of the contracting parties.
 Two priests were present. Rev. Father Toolan, pastor of the church, tied the nuptial knot in a pleasing and impressive manner. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Anna I. Murphy and Edward Reed of Utica, acted as best Man.
 After the ceremony the bridal party was driven to the residence of the bride's mother, where a wedding breakfast was served, which was partaken of by about 40 guests.
 The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Murphy and is a lady possessing many estimable qualities. The groom is one of the popular young men of Utica and holds the position of fireman on the M & M railroad, and enjoys a wide acquaintance in this county. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley received many fine presents. The happy couple took the afternoon train for a trip to Boston and to Bangor, Maine. All expressed best wishes for the wedded pair.

  Newport -- Mrs. Hanna Finkle, 76, a retired superintendent of nurses, Department of Mental Hygiene, at Brentwood Hospital, died yesterday in a Long Island hospital after a long illness.
 She was born Jan. 26, 1884, in the Town of Fairfield, daughter of James and Mary Ann Kelhi Murphy. she was married to Eugene Finkle, who died in 1940.
 Mrs. Finkle was a graduate from the School of Nursing at Utica State Hospital and also St. Joseph's Hospital in Troy, and had served in the Brentwood Hospital for many years.
 She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Kings Park, L.I. Mrs. Finkle leaves two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Marian) Mullen, Northport, L.I.; Mrs. Stewart (Anne) Sappington, Ft. Worth, Tex.; a son, Eugene Finkle, Central Islip, L.I.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Carney, Middleville; Miss Anna Murphy, Herkimer; a brother, Paul Murphy, Coldbrook, and several nieces and nephews.
 The funeral will be at 9 Thursday from the Autenrith Funeral Home, and at 9:30 from St. John's Church, with the Rev. William F. Lenahan officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetary.
