MIDDLEVILLE -- Mrs. Mary A. Carney, 99, formerly of South Main St., Middleville, died April 27, 1987, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, where she had resided since May of 1984.
Mrs. Carney was born April 27, 1888 in the Town of Salisbury, a daughter of the late James and Mary Ann Kelhi Murphy. She was a graduate of Herkimer High School, and the Utica School of Commerce. Her marraige to Robert S. Carney took place June 29, 1911, at St. Mary's Church, Middleville. Mr. Carney died April 5, 1958.
At one time she was employed as a secretary for the J.B. Wells Clothing Store, Utica.
Mrs. Carney was a member of St. Mary's Church, Middleville, and its Alter Rosary Society.
Survivors include three sons, Bernard, Robert and James, all of Middleville; one daughter, Mrs. Rita Dineen, of Herkimer; four grandsons [Robert, Michael, John, Craig]; seven great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Wednesday, at 9 am and from St. Mary's Church, Middleville, at 9:30, with the Rev. Leo Potvin, Pastor, officiating. Internment will take place in St. John's Cemetary, Newport.
