a. Note:   Born in a rural community of Luzerne, New York she was the second daughter of Er (Ervin) and Frances Hopkins. A devoted Christian, loving mother, wife, homemaker and all around morally and ethically good person. She was my Mom and I loved her dearly. We were poor but we were a FAMILY. Our mother worked very hard all of her life until she was in her seventies. She made do when there was nothing to make do with. She was loved by all of her children and her husband. She was widowed in 1964 when my Dad died. Remarried at age 72 and stayed married until her death at age 94.
