Note: REFN71 Following is from an undated Obituary in the Webster City, Iowa "Freeman Journal" of March 1942. Mrs. Lewis K. Largent (born Alice Josephine Cofer), 79 a life long resident of Hamilton county, died at her home in Stanhope Friday morning after a week's serious illness. She had been in failing health for some time. Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m. Monday at the Stanhope Church of Christ, with the Rev. C. F. Schmidt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Neese cemetery, near Bells Mill, with Foster's in charge. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Cofer were early settlers in Hamilton county, in the Bells Mill community. Mrs. Largent was born Dec. 12, 1862, and spent her early life in the Bells Mill and Homer communities where she knew much of the struggles of pioneer life. She was married April 2, 1882 to Lewis K. Largent and next month the couple would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. More than 50 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Largent moved to Stanhope and for more than half a century had lived in the same house. She leaves her husband, who is in poor health, and three sons, John (my Father), and Harry at home, and Albert of Clarion, and two daughters. Mrs. Anna MacKinster, of Tillamook, Oregon and Maude. Three children preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ and as long as her health permitted was a faithful attendant at all services. She had a host of friends in Stanhope who knew her as a good woman and kind neighbor.... (Note: Grandpa Largent, in poor health in March 1942, died in Stanhope, Iowa in 1954.)
