 for shares for Ziegler; was trying to gain favor with Ziegler. Ziegler
 told Henry (acc. to Ernest) that the baby "would never want for anything."

 1901 Born Sept. 14 in Clinton, DeWitt County, Illinois.
 1906 Moved to Bloomington, IL, 816 S. Bund St.
 Went to Emerson Grade School.
 1918 Bloomington High School -- dropped out senior year.
 Worked at Hayes Buick Auto Sales -- Timothy K. Hayes.
 Moved to Clinton -- worked for Illinois Central Railroad.
 Furloughed -- laid off when stokers put in locomotives.
 1921 Headed for New York; stopped in Indianapolis.
 Older sister Verna lived in Indianapolis -- 420 N. Oakland --
 double, other half occupied by Judge Pfau. Moved in with Verna. (Brother Don/Jesse also stayed with Verna
 later.)
 Worked for Irvington Ice & Coal until 1929.
 1920s Mother Rhoda moved to Cuba, New Mexico, lived with Winifred and Clarence McGhee. Don drove her out.
 Father Henry stayed in Bloomington. He didn't like Clarence,
 according to Don. Worked at American Foundry till he died. (Son Charles
 took his place at the foundry.)
 1929 Worked for Irvington Ice & Coal when he met Mary through her friends
 Al and Rhea Schultz.
 1930 Bought stock in Bud Johnson invention -- new type of stove. Sold some, but Bud kept tinkering with it and changing the design. Never able
 to ship.
 1931 Married July 10 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Indianapolis.
 Became Catholic when he married Mary, who was Catholic. Rented house in
 University Heights (south side). Rob Kinney lost his job in Chicago; he
 and Louise, who was Mary's niece, came to Indianapolis, moved in with
 Jones's.
 All four lived together -- moved to 3821 Boulevard Place, next to
 Greskamp family. Worked at Block's, selling Chambers ranges.
 1934 Phil born, then Mary Lou (1935). Moved a few blocks away, to West
 40th St.
 1936 Moved to Richmond, Indiana; worked for General Insulating Co. Lived there one year.
 1937 Moved to Springfield, Ohio, still with General Insulating. Lived on
 Western Avenue, next door to a grocery store. Owner used to take Phil out
 on deliveries.
 Bought out one partner in insulating business, but had no records of
 sale. Other partner forced Ernest out of business.
 Moved to farm home outside town.
 1939 Moved to Marion, Indiana, lived on 15th St. Dave born.
 Managed Johnson Floor Covering store for L.V. Johnson of Muncie.
 Capehart Radio factory closed, brought on a mini-depression in Marion.
 Floor covering store closed.
 1940 Moved family back to Indianapolis. Lived with Louise & Rob at 4137
 Byram Ave.
 Moved to 69 S. Whittier Place in Irvington. Worked for Patterson
 Shade Co. Phil started 1st Grade at Our Lady of Lourdes in September.
 1941 Moved to 802 N. Colorado, Little Flower parish.
 1942 Started work at Chevrolet Commercial Body plant.
 1944 Summer, moved to 338 Burgess Ave. Joneses went together with Louise
 & Rob to buy duplex on contract from Dixie Toole. Lived there till after Mary died in 1953.
