Note: 1850 IN Census -- Switzerland Co, Craig Twp. Age 35, living with Joshua Jones age 77, Polly Jones age 64 and William Jones age 43; no wife listed. Next to Stephen C. and Nancy Jones family. 1860 IN Census -- Age 46, still living with Joshua, Mary and William M. Jones, plus Nancy A. Jones age 16. 1868 Flemming Jones m. Julia Louise Umbar in Switzerland Co. 1870 IN Census -- Switzerland Co., Jefferson Twp. (Vevay), Flemming age 51 and Julia Louise Jones age 26. 1880 IN Census -- Switzerland Co, Craig Twp., Flemming age 62 boarding w/ F.J. (Fleming) Siebenthal, probably his uncle. F.J.'s mother was Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Joshua. Census records him as "maimed, crippled or disabled." No death record found yet. DEEDS Nov. 14 1845 -- Received deed to 20 Acres of S half of SW quart of Sec. 16-2-3, from Gabriel Hall's estate. Commissioner noted that Joseph Dow had executed a bond for the property to Joshua Jones, who in turn had turned over the property to Flemming Jones. Commissioner confirmed rights to Flemming Jones. Book L-220; see L-65. Mar. 1 1864 -- William H. Jones and Fleming bought 30 Acres from W side of E half of SW quart of Sec. 16-2-3, part of school lands. W-372 SWITZERLAND CO. DEED BOOK X, pp. 482-484: (Assume beneficiary is Fleming Jones Sr. age 50 or so, not Fleming Jones Jr. who would have been age 24-25.) We Stephen Jones, Edward Violet and Nancy B. Violet, Bland [sic] Jones and Sarah Jones, Benjamin F. Siebenthal and Elizabeth Siebenthal, Levi W. LeClerc and Sarah (sic) A. LeClerc, Robert W. LeClerc and Sarah LeClerc, Robert W. Wakefield, Nancy J. Wakefield, George W. Walters and Caroline Walters, Hezekiah F. Roberts and Mary E. Roberts, Ira Banta, Adaline [sic] Banta, Lewis P. Leclerc, Peter Leclerc of Switzerland County and State of Indiana convey and warrant to Flemming Jones of said County the following Real Estate in said County to wit: It being a piece of Land lying on the East side of the West half of the South west quarter of Section 16. Town 2. Range 3 west, beginning at the North East corner [detailed survey description follows] to contain twenty-eight and a half acres -- Also a piece of Land lying in the South end of the West half of the North west quarter of Section 16 Town 2. Range 3. west beginning at the North East corner of the West half of the South west quarter of said Section [detailed survey description follows] containing Eleven and a half acres more or less -- Also as much off the West side of the East half of the South west quarter of Section 16 Town 2. Range 3. west as will contain Thirty acres of land which was sold to Melchoir Souvrain at a sale of School land made on the 16th day of July 1832 -- and also the West half of a certain piece of Land purchased of Blan B. Jones by Joshua Jones and Benjamin Siebenthal supposed to contain Forty three acres of Land lying and being in Section 16 Town 2 Range 3 west being the same land conveyed to the said Siebenthal by Gabriel Hall & Joseph Dow.
