Note: Obituary Nicholas M. Heiderscheidt, 70, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday at Metropolitan Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial was Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in St Mary's Cemetery. O'Hare Funeral Home handled the arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Sleepy Eye; sons Lawrence, Leonard, Lowell, Laverne, Lyle, Lenus and Lamonte, all of Sleepy Eye, and Leo of London, Ark; daughters Leona and Lynette of Anoka, LeAnn of Minneapolis, Mrs James (Lois) Filzen of Litchfield, Mrs. Lorraine Carlson of Coon Rapids and Mrs. (LaDonna) Leon Helget of Sleepy Eye; a brother Joe of Milroy; sisters Mrs. Evelyn Heiling of Morgan, Mrs Bernard Turbes of Sanborn, Mrs Clarence Steffensmeir of Morgan, Mrs Dennis Goche of Sanborn, Mrs. Edmund Baune of Wabasso, Mrs Marie Morgan of Tempe, Ariz., Mrs. Melvin Irlbech of Morgan and Mrs. William Turbes of Sleepy Eye; and 33 grandchildren. He proceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael. He was born on March 30, 1913, in Brookville Township, Redwood County, to Nicholas and Mary (Bierl) Heiderscheidt. He married Helen Landkammer on Nov. 15, 1939, at St Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. After their marriage, they farmed in the Brown County, where they farmed for one year and later moved to Leavenworth Township in 1957. He retired from farming in 1957 and worked for the Brown County Highway Dept. for one year. In 1958, they moved to the Sleepy Eye area, where he worked for Berdan Wells Co. until his retirement in 1978. At the time of his death he and his wife made their residence in the Iberia area of Stark Township, rural Sleepy Eye. Pall bearers were his eight sons.
