  Harvey Rankin Rites Are Held Friday
  Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. for Harvey Rankin, 64, of Wills Point. Rev. Leslie Scott officiated at the services at the Russell Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of LyBrand Funeral Home. Mr. Rankin died unexpectedly at his home about 3 a.m. Thursday morning. Although he was a native of Mississippi, having been born there on January 25, 1910; he spent most of his life in Texas. At four years of age he moved with his family to Tundra Community near Canton. When he was 11, his family moved to Union Grove. Mr. Rankin lived away from Wills Point for about 25 years. During this time he was in the furniture and grocery business in Lubbock. In 1960 hand Mrs. Rankin returned to Wills Point. For a short time Mr. Rankin was an employee of Terrell State Hospital. He later established his own insulation business, but retired two year ago due to ill health. Mr. Rankin married the former Myrl Harris on November 25, 1932, and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Keith D. Hewett of Clovis, New Mexico. He was a retired insulator and a member of the Russell Memorial United Methodist Church. Je was also a veteran of World War II, a member of the administrative board of the church and a member of the Gordon Wynne Sunday School Class. Besides Mrs. Rankin and Mrs. Hewett, also surviving are two grandchildren, Carey Dell and Cynthia am Hewett; two brothers, Melvin Rankin of Wills Point and Charlie Rankin of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Gene Langston of Wills Point and Mrs. A.L. Gates of Edgewood; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Rankin, Rex Rankin, Danny Harris, John D. Beck, Bill Langston, and Jay Stroud. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Gordon Wynne Sunday School Class. Dr. Bob Gilbreth presented special music. Those attending the service from out of town were Mrs. Lee Day, Miss Lorena Brown, Mrs. T.J. Halbrook, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gates, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Seale and Rev. T.J. Yeager, all of Edgewood. Others are Mr. and Mrs. Odell Wright, Mrs. Eula Mae Buyher, Mrs. Mailyn Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dennehy, Lucile Pankey, Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Wooldridge, Miss Cyrtis Davis, Mrs. Bessie Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Felton Harwell, Mr. and Mrs. Cade Leinart, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Flangan, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Curry, all of Terrell. More are Christine Sanders, Jay Briggs and J.W.
