  D.B. Lewellyn
  D.B. Lewellyn, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Lewellyn, was born in Lafayette county, Miss., December 25, 1887. Died in Baylor hospital, Dallas, at an early hour Sunday Aug. 11, 1935, death resulting from injuries received more than a year ago when a tree fell upon him. At the time the injuries were not considered serious but later complications arose which necessitated more than one operation from which he never recovered. His remains were brought to the home of his sister, Mrs. J.M. Rankin, who resides north of town, Sunday afternoon. The funeral was held Monday morning at 10 o�clock at the Palmer Grove Methodist church by Rev. Pitts, pastor of Baptist church at Wise, assisted by Rev. Ritchie , pastor of Palmer Grove. The body was tenderly laid to rest by the side of his father in the Union Grove cemetery with the following nephews serving as pallbearers: A.L. Gates, H.B., Harvey, J.K., Melvin and Charles Rankin. The R. F. Williams funeral directors were in charge. Mr. Lewellyn came to Texas in 1910 with his parents, living most of this time in Van Zandt county. At the time of his death he and his family were living in the Wise community. On April 1, 1913, he was married to Miss Evelyn Riley at Pauls Valley, Okla. She with the following children survive him: Mrs. Lucille Weedin, Leslie, Helen, Riley, Deen, Donald, Reginald, June and Romilda. One child died in infancy. He is also survived by his aged Mother, Mrs. G.W. Lewellyn, tow sisters, Mrs. J.M. Rankin of Wills Point and Mrs. S.D. Addington of Water Valley, Miss; three brothers, W.R. of Canton, A.D., of Houston and J.K. of Wink; one granddaughter, Evelyn Marie Weedin of Wise. Many other relatives and friends are left to mourn this home going of Mr. Lewellyn. He joined the Methodist church early in life and remained firm in that faith unto the end. Rev. Pitts paid tribute to his life and character as a son, a husband, a father, a friend and neighbor, dwelling upon his goodness to his family and to is friends.
