Mrs. Josephine Miller Eidel
Mrs. Josephine Miller Eidel, widow of Jacob Eidel, died at her home in Sparrowbrush, at 11:16 on Saturday night, July 13, of heart failure, after a short illness. She was 71 years of age.
Deceased was born in Germany and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Miller. In childhood she came to the United States with her parents, who settled at Ellenville.
In 1864 she was united in marriage with Jacob Eidel . The death of Mr. Eidel occurred at Sparrowbush on December 18, 1908. For 35 years Mrs.Eidel was a resident of Sparrowbush, where she was well known and highly respected. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Knights and Ladies of Honor of Port Jervis.
The surviving relatives are one brother, William Miller, of Ellenville; one sister, Mrs. Henry Stoehr , of Walden; five daughters; Mrs. Margaret Ferguson, and Mrs. C. Curran, of New York City; Mrs. T.C. Hughes, of Brewster, N.Y.; Mrs. Arthur McConey and Mrs. James O'Hara, of Sparrowbush; six sons; George Eidel of Middletown; Fred Eidel of Schenectady; William and Thomas Eidel, of Port Jervis; Charles and Bernard Eidel, of Sparrowbush. She is further survived by 95 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the house in Sparrowbush at 9:30 o'clock this morning, and at 10 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment was in Sparrowbush cemetery.
