Note: Ola and Ingebjorg lived on Hellen farm number one when the Lars Bendikson Hellen family lived on Hellen farm number two. This is confirmed in the 1875 census for the Vik district where the Ola Ellingson and Ingebjorg Larsdotter Hellen family is listed. Johanna Larsdotter (Ingebjorg's sister) was also living with the family during that census. According to the Hellen farm history Ola Ellingson Hellen died and the widow, Ingebjorg, sold the farm and emigrated to America with her sons. She is found as the head of household with her son Ola Hellen in the 1885 Minnesota State Census in Vernon Township, Dodge County on the same page of the census as her brother, Hans Larsson Hellen. She was listed as 47 years old and born in Norway. Her older son, Elling O. Hellen is listed in the Hans L. Hellen farmily, where he was probably working. None of these family members are found in the 1895 or 1905 census records. According to Edna J. Rude of Gary, Minnesota, Ingebjorg Hellen and her sons moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota, where she died in 1904. Her sons moved to Canada and may have used wither Hellen or Ellingson as their surname.
