George served during the Civil War in the army of the United States of America. He enlisted as a private on March 1, 1862 in Company D, Eightieth Missouri Cavalry. He was discharged from Company E, Fourteenth Missouri Cavalry as a sergeant.
George broke his neck in a fight.
George is buried in Round Prairie Cemetery, Barton County, Missouri.
