Note: Rosa lived in Dogulas County, Illinois. She later moved to Barton County, Missouri. She later moved to Colorado.
After Rosa's marriage, James and Rosa went to nothwestern Colorado to live. James owned half interest in a 480 acre cattle ranch. The ranch was known as the Brick Ranch because it had a beautiful seven room brick house and a large brick barn on the property.
Rosa returned to Missouri in August of the next year because of the death of her sister, Mary Freedle. Mary died at the birth of her first child, Lucien. Myrtle took the baby home with her to Colorado. Rosa and James's first child, James, was born two months later. The couple cared for Lucien until he was three and a half years old, at which time his father remarried and was able to care for him.
Rosa is buried in the Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado.
