  NAGS HEAD - Mary Brady Duvall, 82, died Friday, August 17 at her residence. Mrs. Duvall was born in Baltimore, Md. and attended the University of Baltimore School of Law. She was a retired administrative secretary for Essex College and a member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Duvall was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Katherine Kopp Brady. She was the widow of the late Calvert Holden Duvall. Surviving are two step-daughters: Diane Duvall King of Savannah, Ga. and Susan Duvall Lochridge of Brunswick, Ga.; one sister: Helen Brady Hall; and one brother, Edward Brady, both of Baltimore; and two grandchildren: Mara King Harley and James Robert King. Services will be held at the graveside in Manteo Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Butler officiating. Twiford's Colony Chapel in Manteo is handling arrangements. SURVIVORS: her husband, Jack Lloyd Alderman of Savannah; a sister, Mrs. Frances Hinely Gates of Lake Park; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Beaudet HILTON HEAD ISLAND -- Richard Thomas Beaudet, 77, died Aug. 19 at Life Care of Hilton Head. The native of Manchester, N. H., moved to Hilton Head Island in 1997 from Kirkville, N. Y., where he lived for 39 years. He was formerly of Broad Creek Care Center at TidePointe, Hilton Head Island. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific on the USS Gilligan and USS Lough. He was employed by Syracuse Newspapers (The Hearld Journal) for 34 years, retiring as an editor in 1989. He was a member of Syracuse Newspapers' After 30 Club and a communicant of St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church of Hilton Head Island. SURVIVORS: two daughters, Noelle Foye of Brockton, Mass., and Diane Gorman of Hilton Head Island; three grandchildren, Clare Jones of Plymouth, Mass., Sean Foye of North Haledon, N. J., and Heather Albrecht of Hilton Head Island; two step-grandchildren, Jay Gorman of Hilton Head Island and Heather Gorman of Chazy Lake, N. The native of Tattnall County served in the Army and the Merchant Marine. He was a member of the John Elder Collins Veterans of Foreign Wars Club in Soperton. He was a member of Soperton United Methodist Church and attended Trinity Assembly of God in Soperton. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an engineer. SURVIVORS: his wife of 46 years, Jeanette C. Collins; three sons, Michael R. Collins of Dublin and George Kelly Collins and John J. Collins, both of Soperton; a brother, Russell C. Collins of Swainsboro; a granddaughter, Olivia Catherine Collins of Mount Laurel, N. J. ; and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home.
