MARRIAGE: Family members say that John R. remarried after the death of Martha Ellen. According to his will, on file in the Marion County, Alabama Courthouse, his wife at the time of his death was Nancy E., last name Unknown. By using the 1930 census, John R. Waters was unmarried as of April 5, 1930. He is living as a border and is listed as widowed. His second marriage had to have been after this date and before June 14, 1935, the date of his death.

Census: Research Note This section of census has no Household # listed on the original census. I have been told John Robert was living in the Household of Thomas R. Stephens, but I do not agree. Thomas R. Stephens was listed as living with a wife and he was only 21 years of age. Using that reasoning, every one with no Household # listed would have been living in the same residence.
Census: Research Note In the 1880 census, John Robert Waters was living beside his Aunt, Susan E. Moore Yeager and Henry Allen Yeager. Susan E. was the sister of his Mother, Jane H. Moore Waters. Henry Allen Yeager was the son of Elisha and Hester Ann Johnson Yeager. The Yeager and Waters families lived in close proxemity for many, many years.

It seems reasonable to assume they were related due to the fact that they lived side by side. For Benjamin to have been born in Alabama his parents had to have been in this state by the year 1855. Where did they come from? And where did they go?
